WARRACKNABEAL will be a hive of activity at the weekend as thousands of people partake in the annual Y-Fest celebrations.
The four-day event starts on Friday and organisers have planned a jam-packed program to entertain crowds through to Monday.
Y-Fest committee president Lance Huebner said the program catered for diverse interests and there was activities for everyone to enjoy.

He said a golf club tournament starts the celebrations at noon today and has golfers out in the sunshine all weekend long.
The Easter art show also begins today with an official opening and preview at the Yarriambiack Shire offices from 5.30pm. The artwork will be on displayed until Monday.
The following day the Easter parade will kick-start Saturday’s festivities with a march up Scott Street.
Mr Huebner said the parade attracts in excess of 3,000 people who line the street to witness and enjoy the vintage machinery and vehicles that drive along.
He said entries from businesses, sporting clubs, schools, music groups and individuals will add fun, colour and a splash of enthusiasm.
“The parade is the most popular event. Every year people come back to see the parade. It isn’t just locals, but people who have traveled long distances,” he said.
The annual Y-Fest busking competition in Lions Park follows the popular parade from 12.30pm.
Mr Huebner said the Warracknabeal Cup in the afternoon was another drawcard.
“This would be another big event over the weekend and there are plenty of activities at the race itself to keep people entertained like fashions on the field,” he said.
Mr Huebner said the vintage machinery rally at Wheatlands Agricultural Machinery Museum will have an extensive collection on show from Saturday through to Monday.
He said a new event was added to the program this year for Sunday afternoon.
“We have an armed bowlers triples tournament organised for Sunday afternoon. People are coming from across Victoria for that,” he said.
“It is something different for the festival this year and for people to try out.”
