Two fatalities confirmed in car-truck collision on Western Highway
The region was rocked by the news of a double fatality on the Western Highway on September 14. A 48-year-old Dartmoor man was arrested and fronted the Horsham Magistrates' Court the next day.
Unexpected detection within waste water at Horsham
On Monday, September 6, the Victorian Government reported traces of COVID-19 was found in the waste water in Horsham. However, testing on Wednesday, September 8, by Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water showed no traces of the virus.
No exposure sites in Warracknabeal after positive cases
Social media erupted after news of new COVID-19 cases in the Wimmera. The Wimmera Mail-Times reported two positive cases in Warracknabeal on Friday, 24. Fortunately, the two cases were staying at a local caravan park and it is due to their "effective quarantine" that there are no exposure sites listed in the area.

REGIONAL Victoria - except Shepperton - step out of harsh lockdown restrictions at midnight on Friday, September 10. A further easing of restrictions is expected on October 26.
Locals urged to get tested after positive case visited hospital
The St Arnaud community was encouraged to get tested for COVID-19 after a person who visited East Wimmera Health Service's St Arnaud hospital campus tested positive to the virus. In a post on social media, the health service confirmed the person attended the hospital on Tuesday, September 14.

The league released a statement to clubs stating it would aim to play a top-four finals series to conclude the 2021 season. Horsham Police sought public assistance following a collision involving two vehicles at the corner of Baillie and James St's in Horsham. On Thursday, August 26, 2021 at about 7.40pm two vehicles collided at the intersection of Baillie and James streets.

Emergency crews called to Wal Wal accident
Emergency crews were called to the scene of a vehicle accident on Monday, September 29. Calls for assistance were made at about 10.30am, with crews sent to the scene at Stawell-Warracknabeal Road between Wal Wal and Glenorchy. It is understood a truck rolled over, north of the railway.

SEVERAL reports came into the newsroom on Wednesday, September 8, of a low flying helicopter, in particular around the Laharum area. Helicopters were undergoing checks via the air, inspecting vegetation and powerlines in the region for electricity distributor Powercor. The helicopters, have industry-leading technology on board and establish a unique aerial services capability to support Powercor's annual vegetation management program.
