Ararat claim the chocolates in Good Friday win

Despite having a slower start, Ararat banked a triumphant win on Good Friday against Stawell at Alexandra Oval.

Ararat trailed Stawell at the quarter time 1.2 (8) to 4.1 (25), but had a big second term, booting six goals, five points to lead at half time, 7.7 (49) to 5.23 (32).

They added a further 42 to seven points in the quarter three, and 63 points to 19 points in the last quarter to claim the chocolates 23.16 (154) to 9.4 (58).

For the victors, better players were Sonny Kettle and Ben Taylor, while Tom Williamson had a day out in the forward line kicking 10 majors.

For Stawell, they were served well by Michael Selsby and Paul Summers, who was also his side's leading goal scorer, with five.
