Ararat look to better season
Despite finishing last in 2024, the Ararat A Grade netball side still found the positives from the year.

"We set goals each week and these were attained," coach Sally Noble said.
"They were our little wins to improve morale."
The group began preseason in January and has consolidated as a team.
"We have been working hard as a group having a strong pre-season," Noble said.
"We've been united as a team and our practice matches have shown our strengths improved from last season."
Recruitment was a big focus for the side and Noble said they have recruited a group of premiership players who are both leaders off and on the court.
They include Mininera and District Netball Association 2024 best and fairest Faith Biddle and her sister Paige, both of whom were instrumental in the Ararat Eagles premiership success last year.
Massie Astbury, a familiar name from Tatyoon, joins the Rats in 2025, while midcourter Jess Taylor returns after having a baby.
Noble said Annie Shea, from the club's B Grade side, would also be stepping up to play midcourt.
It's not all good news for the club, though. Goalie Jesse Bligh left, moving away from the district.
"Our goal for this season is finals," Noble said.
As for who is going to have a breakout season, the coach said she thinks it's Paige Biddle's opportunity to lead the way.
"But there are a few to pick from this season, which is exciting for us," she said.
