Beloved receptionist ready to retire

Dimboola will be saying goodbye to medical receptionist Catherine "Cathy" Ivett as she retires after 32 years of service to the healthcare sector.

After beginning her career in 1988, Ms Ivett made the move from Adelaide to Dimboola, where she became a dental nurse.

She witnessed the relocation of dental services to Wimmera Base Hospital in Horsham under Wimmera Healthcare Group in the 1990s

After many years of commuting to Horsham, Ms Ivett transitioned from being a dental assistant to a receptionist at Dimboola Medical Centre in 2010 – a move that she says has been very rewarding.

“I have just loved working in this role and I know I’m going to miss the work environment and the daily interactions with the patients and staff," Ms Ivett said.

Dr Mark Amilegbe from Graceland Medical Clinic thanked her for her "outstanding service" and her "unwavering commitment, hard work and dedication over the years".

“We appreciate and will always remember her long hours at work, her beautiful and kind heart to serve the community, and her care and concern for both staff and patients," Dr Amilegbe said.

"She is to be congratulated on doing such a fantastic job.

“Cathy will be missed immensely and we wish her the very best of everything in her retirement and future endeavours."

Now her next journey awaits as she plans to travel around Australia.

Dimboola community and her exceptional service to her colleagues over the years.

"We wish Cathy all the best in her retirement and future travels," the organisation said.
