Harrow resident Joyce Russell was blown away when she learned she had won $2000 in vouchers to spend at participating businesses.

“I was surprised. I’m still getting over the shock,” she said.

“It’s a cherry on top this Christmas. I might buy something for myself.”

Mrs Russell’s winning entry was submitted after purchasing a jumper from eXquisit in Horsham Plaza.

“My daughter Susan was nice enough to do the entry for me,” she said.

“She was very quick on the phone.”

Meanwhile, Jenny Quick took home $1000 in vouchers, while Vicki White won $500 to spend across the participating businesses.

Wimmera Mallee News general manager Clint King said the promotion had been a strong success.

“We had hundreds of entries from across the participating businesses, and it was great to be able to give back to the businesses that supported us,” he said.

“The winners were able to allocate their share of the $3500 prize pool to the participating stores, ensuring vouchers were spent back into local businesses.”
