Yarriambiack's 'Coffee with a Councillor' program drew to a close on Monday, March 24, following the last three sessions in Beulah, Brim and Warracknabeal.
Councillors stopped in local cafes and businesses for about an hour to listen to community concerns, feedback and questions as well as to encourage those who hadn't yet completed the Council Plan 2025-2029 survey to do so.
The sessions began on Monday, February 10, as councillors made themselves available in Murtoa at Murtoa Neighbourhood House, Rupanyup at Robyn's Food Van and Minyip at Coopers Crossing Cafe to speak to community members.
On Monday, February 24, it was Patchewollock's (Patchewollock Community Store), Speed's (Speed Post Office) and Lascelles' (Mallee Hen Cafe) turn, followed by Woomelang (Woomelang Multi-Purpose Centre) and Hopetoun (Country Lane Delights) on Friday, March 7.
Mayor Kylie Zanker said there were a wide range of issues and conversations covered with community members.
Some topics included roads, recycling and waste, renewables, glass bins, local laws and footpaths.
"It has been well received," Cr Zanker said.
Minyip had the largest turnout with 19 community members chatting with councillors, followed by Woomelang with 16.
Community members are reminded that council can be approached at any time so they don't have to wait for something like this to be organised.
Council's engagement van visits towns across the shire to welcome community members to express their thoughts, concerns and questions.
