Colour run for respect
The United Nations’ international campaign, 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, takes place each year from November 25 until December 10.
The campaign aims to unite the community and call for the elimination of gendered violence.
Hindmarsh Shire Council has received funding from Respect Victoria’s 16 Days of Activism Grassroots Initiative and will be hosting a colour run and barbecue tea.
The dates for the community events are as follows:
Dimboola Soundshell – Monday, December 8, 6-8pm.
Jaypex Park, Nhill – Tuesday, December 9, 6-8pm.
A colour run involves attendees running or walking a circuit, while colourful powder is thrown onto them.
The events will be free to attend, and attendees are asked to bring suitable footwear, eye protection, and a change of clothes or a towel.
Community members, schools, sporting clubs and other organisations are encouraged to attend and show their support for this movement.
