Construction set to begin on Horsham College Kindergarten
In a boon for Horsham parents, a new kindergarten is being built at Horsham College.

The kinder, featuring two classrooms and space for 66 children, is set to be ready for Term 1, 2026.
Principal Megan Woolford confirmed that a builder has been recently appointed, and works are expected to commence on site in the coming weeks.
“We are excited for the new Kindergarten at Horsham College,” she said.
“The kinder will provide additional kindergarten places for the local community, while making drop-off time simpler and more convenient for some of our families.”
The kindergarten will be built on the High Street North near Dimboola Road.
Ms Woolford said the Victorian School Building Authority would supervise construction, ensuring adherence to Horsham Rural City Council guidelines and Environment Protection Authority regulations regarding construction hours.
Modular construction methods are being employed, with each room fabricated in sections in a factory before being craned into place on-site, thereby reducing the time builders spend on-site.
Ms Woolford said the construction of the kindergarten would not affect the upcoming VCE exams.
“Exams will run as normal, out of Ian Maroske Hall and will be uninterrupted,” she said.
“We have a strong collaborative relationship with the VSBA, and we have assured that the construction works will not impact the exams.”
The kindergarten project was part of a $1.3 billion allocation in the 2023-24 Victorian Budget, to build around 100 new kindergartens across the state.
The VSBA assessed both primary and secondary school sites to determine the most suitable location for the kindergarten.
“We are building and expanding hundreds of kindergartens at schools in areas where they are most needed,” A Department of Education spokesperson said.
"Every child deserves the best start in life and every family should have access to quality, affordable early education and care – no matter where they live."
