Free activities on offer
Beat the winter school holiday blues with a series of free and fun-filled activities.
From July 7 to 18, the Hindmarsh Shire Council is hosting a variety of sessions in Rainbow, Jeparit, and beyond.
Mayor Ron Ismay said he was looking forward to seeing a sea of youth enjoy the activities across the two weeks.
“We’re proud to offer such a fun, creative, and inclusive program for young people across Hindmarsh,” he said.
“We encourage families to get involved, try something new, and make the most of these fantastic local opportunities.”
Cr Ismay encouraged families to book early to avoid disappointment as some activities may have a limited number of spots available.
Young people can get hands-on with some science sessions with Jess and Ellen in the library in Rainbow on July 7 and Jeparit on July 8.
For those looking to unleash their creative side, the Jeparit Library is also hosting painting workshops on July 8 with youth councillor Matilda.
Looking for something cute and cuddly? Tiny Goats and Co are holding two small group sessions on July 9; spaces are limited, so book early to secure a spot.
Add some colour to your room and make a Kokedama on July 10 in the Rainbow Supper Room.
Kick off the second week of holidays with some yoga in Jeparit on July 14 at the library.
In the afternoon, get in the zone with Level Up Gaming at the Jeparit Town Hall from 12-4pm.
Burn off some energy on July 16 with badminton at the MECCA, with sessions for primary and secondary-aged participants.
Across the shire, there are also movie sessions in Nhill on July 11 and 18 with 'How to Train Your Dragon' and 'Elio' on the big screen from 1pm.
Meanwhile, budding artists can mould their vision with three different pottery sessions on July 15 in Dimboola.
