Funding extension for region's carers
Horsham's Centre for Participation has received a $60,000 funding extension from the Victorian government for the next two years to deliver respite activities in the region.

The funding will provide temporary relief to caregivers by offering care for their loved ones, enabling them to take a break.
Chief executive Robbie Millar said the money is not enough, but we still welcome the announcement.
"It's just an extension of a small bucket of money," he said.
"The region needs more, as there are many people in the area who need respite care.
"We still welcome any level of funding."
Member for Western Victoria, Jacinta Ermacora, said the government is providing practical support to local carers.
"We're backing local carers with practical support, so they can keep doing what they do best – supporting others – while also looking after themselves," she said.
Centre for Participation Horsham will share its part of the state government's more than $18 million funding between 51 organisations across the state from 2025 to 2027 to deliver in-home and out-of-home respite care, group activities, and tailored supports that meet the needs and circumstances of carers.
Mr Millar said any carer across Wimmera can call the centre for support services.
"This funding is actually for carers to take off from their caring role to do something for themselves," he said.
"It doesn't sort a lot, but it somehow helps the part.
"It targets 15 carers across the region every year.
"Not enough, but fifteen is better than zero, as a lot of people are involved in caring roles across the Wimmera.
"Anyone in the region who requires respite care can reach out to us."
