Gear up now for Arapilies cycle ride
Cyclists across the Wimmera Mallee are being encouraged to start training for the 2025 Arapiles Cycling Event (ACE).
The community bike ride, which is based in Natimuk and centred on Mt Arapiles, will be held this year on Saturday, October 4.
Three new routes are being unveiled – 105km, 77km and 45km – all starting and finishing in Natimuk.
Event manager Mark Radford said all roads on the three circuits were sealed.
"There's also a 20km option which follows the Big Sky Bike Trail," Radford said.
Radford stressed that the ACE Ride was "not a race" and pedal-assisted ebikes were welcome.
"Online entries have opened and already there are cyclists from Bendigo, Ballarat, Port Fairy, Stawell, Melbourne and Adelaide signed up," he said.
The ACE Ride supports two local community groups: Wimmera Against Cancer in Kids and Natimuk Lions Club.
