Hindmarsh Libraries get creative

Hindmarsh Shire Libraries will launch two new programs this month – The Creation Station in the Dimboola Library and Rainbow Crochet Corner in the Rainbow Library.

Rainbow Library will soon have a dedicated time and space for locals to complete knitting and crochet projects, surrounded by like-minded people.
Rainbow Library will soon have a dedicated time and space for locals to complete knitting and crochet projects, surrounded by like-minded people.

The Creation Station is an after school program for children aged 10 and over, starting on Wednesday, August 13, and will run every second Wednesday from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.

Facilitated by librarian Jo, the creative program will see participants using their imagination and working on projects that span the entire month.

In Rainbow, after receiving several requests from the library community, local crafters can meet and work on their knitting or crochet projects with the Rainbow Crochet Corner.

This provides community members an opportunity to meet and have a yarn with other yarners on a weekly basis, utilising the library space with tea, coffee and hot chocolate supplied.

The first session is on Friday, August 8, and will run from 9.30am.

Upcoming dates and times for these two new programs, as well as other library in-house and outreach programs such as Storytime, Get Creative, Kids Craft Club and Book Chat can be found at www.hindmarsh.vic.gov.au/up-coming-events.
