We are very thankful that he drives all the way from Warracknabeal, every Wednesday, just to be able to be here to do Drumbeat.

This is a wellbeing programme which uses hands on drumming to help students learn about different emotions and build their team bonding.

It also teaches the students different resilience skills. All of the Prep-2 students really enjoy participating in Drumbeat with Reverend James.

The class plays different games during the session such as copying the drum pattern, the gratitude game, and musical chairs.

Students enjoyed their time in Swan Hill and are very thankful for the staff, Mrs Bound and Cherie, for taking them on this rewards trip.

On the 26th of June, 11 students from the primary section were decorating cupcakes in the food room during Period 5 and 6. These 11 students were able to do this because they had saved up 5 dollars of College Cash from their SWPBS cards, after demonstrating the school values. The students were taught different piping techniques that they could use on their own cupcakes to make their creations. Each older student was paired with a younger student, as the older ones could help and give creative ideas to their partners. One of the students, Mia, stated that she thoroughly enjoyed it and that she had previously decorated cupcakes before but not to the level of detail they had done on the day. Those students that participated were thankful that Ms Cook, Jenny, and Mrs Jones were helping out and making it fun.

This was followed by a lunch break at the plaza, combined with a little bit of shopping, then going off to play mini golf and bumper cars at the arcade, with a bit of friendly competition. The highlights were definitely the film, with its heartfelt moments, and chasing other students in the bumper cars.

On Tuesday the 1st of July, the Year 9-12s went on a trip to the Wimmera Victoria Careers Expo in Longerenong. The expo was full of stalls from all different companies all over Victoria and even Australia. There were companies like the Victorian Police Department, the ambulance, ADF careers, O’Connors and so many more interesting workplaces. There were also competitions held on the day like a spark plug changing competition and a plumbing competition. Ben, Brock, and Blake all won a prize: Ben won the plumbing competition and received a $50 voucher and Brock and Blake won 2nd and 3rd in the spark plug competition, receiving a toolbox and set of tools respectively. The day was a great experience and very helpful for deciding what students may want to do as a career. Nearly everyone on this trip would 100% recommend for other students to attend in following years as the day was definitely useful.
