Horsham Lawn defeat St Michaels
In the final round before the Christmas break, Horsham Lawn defeated St Michaels in the Central Wimmera Tennis Association pennant competition.
Central Park received the points in the other game as Kalkee forfeited their fixture.
Playing at St Michaels, both the home side and Horsham Lawn got off to an even start in the opening four doubles rubbers.
For St Michaels, Eli Bailey and Chris Ellis defeated D’Artagnan Walls and Frazer Shurdington 8-5, and Mia Rees and Kassie Peachey defeated Ella Thompson and Hayley Reid 8-4.
For Horsham Lawn, August Koch and Mitchell Fromm defeated Peter Hayes and Archer Reading 8-5, and Emma Streeter and Chrisy Holmes defeated Violet McGennisken and Barb Corugh 8-2.
The scores would be level at 4-4 after the singles matches.

Frazer Shurdington and Mitchell Fromm defeated Chris Ellis and Archer Reading 8-5, Hayley Reid and Chrisy Holmes defeated Kassie Peached and Barb Cough 8-5, D’Artagnan Walls and Mitchell From defeated Eli Bailey and Archer Reading 8-2, Ella Thompson and Chrisy Holmes defeated Mia Rees and Barb Crough 8-3, August Koch and Frazer Shurdington overcame Peter Hayes and Chris Ellis 8-4, and Emma Streeter and Heyley Reid defeated Violet McGennisken and Kassie Peachey 8-4, giving Horsham Lawn an overall 10-4 win.
After 11 rounds, Central Park are in first place with an undefeated record, Horsham Lawn are second with seven wins, while St Michaels and Kalkee are in third and fourth, respectively.
