Karen and Michelle lead Championships
On a beautiful Autumn Wednesday, 22 women enjoyed perfect golfing conditions as they took part in a stroke round and the first of our Closed Championships, sponsored by The Warracknabeal Golf Club.
The winner of Division One was Karen Germano with 94-20-74 nett.
The winner of Division Two was Michelle Hallam with 125-52-73 nett.
The Division One Runners-Up was Wendy Hewitt with 87-12-75 nett .
The Division Two Runners-Up was Kaye Picken with 102-26-76 nett on a four-way count back from Beth Preston, Sue Krause and Kerry Oulton.
A tight day out on the golf course for the Division Two golfers.
Wendy Hewitt won the Warrack hot bread fifth nearest the pin, along with the Power and Bennett seventh NTP.
Leonie Atkin had a beautiful shot to win the RNH 13th NTP.
Julie Bayles took home the Sue Krause third shot on the ninth.
The Warracknabeal Dental Clinic nine-out was won by Sue Krause with a great 19 Stableford points.
The Shirley Liersch nine-in was won by Carolyn Morcom playing to her handicap with 18 points.
Next Wednesday will be the second Round of the Club Championships and the 54-Hole Handicap event.
Office duty will be Out & In: Match Committee
Last Saturday’s stableford event was won by Kaye Picken with 35 stableford points.
Derek Picken won the spinning wheel this week and The Palace Hotel Voucher was won by Lorraine Sleep.
