Keen competition among vets at Sheep Hills
Wimmera Veteran Golfers had 53 playing in a 4BBB event at Sheep Hills on Monday May 12 – and what a fantastic day.

The course even had a flush of green for us.
There were some fantastic scores on the day, but the winners were Rex Konig (Murtoa) and Anthony Jones (Moor Park) with the best score of the day: 46 points.
There was a five-way countback for second and third.
The runners-up were Colin Moore (Jeparit) and Barry Cakebread (Dimboola) with 45 points and third went to Ian Hair and Daryl Watson (Natimuk), also on 45 points.
Three other groups ended the day on 45 as well: Elaine Oakley and Shirl Skiller; Daryl Dunford and John Goode; and Anthony Newand, Mal Elliott and Colin McKenzie).
Well done to you all – you just missed out.
Nearest the pins: 4th Jenny Edelsten (Rainbow) and David Baker (Horsham); 7th Elaine Oakley (Horsham) and Noel Roberson; 16th Heather Richards (Dimboola) and David Baker (Horsham).
Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to Sheep Hills for hosting a great day for everyone.
The next event for the Wimmera Vets will be next Monday May 19 at Harrow Golf Club.
It will be a three-way challenge between Wimmera, Glenelg and Lower South East Veteran Golf Districts.
Wimmera won the challenge last year (for only the second time in 25 years) so will be hoping to have a win again this year.
