Locals run rampant

Local trainers have been training winners for fun the past two weeks, resulting in a whopping 14 winners.

Garry George (Beulah), Heather Baxter, and Molly Parfett Oliver (Murtoa), team Hartigan (Horsham), Andrea Gurry (Nhill) have all trained multiple winners for the period, with Paul Hammerstein (Ararat), Ian Robinson (Avoca), and Ian Bibby (Warracknabeal) also leading in a winner each.

Garry George continued his successful run, training three winners.

Detriment broke her maiden status at Horsham with a dominant display, saluting in 23:47sec.

George then headed to Shepparton with his team and trained a winning double with Air Speed taking best of the day time honors 25:32sec, followed by Show Cause winning over the 390m journey in what was an enormous run after finding more trouble than the early settlers.

She won in the last bound in 22:27sec.

Heather Baxter and Molly Parfett-Oliver, like George, trained three winners for the period, all at Horsham.

Weblec Poppy was successful back on December 9,  scoring in 23:68sec.

The team then followed that by training a winning double on December 16, highlighted by Fleetwood Eros claiming victory in the 485m Grade Five Final.

Weblec Shiralee then followed this up with an easy victory in 23:50sec.

Andrea Gurry also led three winners in. Paw Olyslagers was dominant at Horsham, winning comfortably in a fast 23:18sec.

Paw Benson and Idyllic Toby then claimed victory on Friday, Benson running a very good 23:35sec, and Toby resuming from a long-term injury, claiming a fast 23:30sec run.

Team Hartigan claimed victories at both Tuesday's and Friday’s meetings.

Cabao Lapis was a strong winner, setting up an early lead that couldn’t be run down, with Lapis greeting the judge first in 23:56sec.

Dynamite Betty then broke through for her maiden victory with the white and blue chaser scoring comfortably in 23:53sec.

Paul Hammerstein scored with Is He Lucky, Lucky produced a swooping run from the wide draw, winning comfortably in a fast 23:20sec.

Pyrenees Pizazz put in a dominant display for Ian Robinson, leading from start to finish in a nice 23:29sec, and Orson Fury for club President Ian Bibby was a strong victor last Tuesday.

Jumping well and turning for home in second position, Fury was always going to be hard to hold out, and he ran over the early leader, skipping away to a comfortable win in 23:46sec.
