However, this enigma has stumped even the most superior of sleuths.
Last week, a pair of workboots were spotted outside of an accountant's office.
"Despite no rain of recent times," the submitter said.
"[These] very muddy boots whose owner obviously thought they should stay outside piqued my curiosity."
How did the work boots get so muddy in a region that has received scant rain over the summer?
