New season brings changes to Hindmarsh outdoor pools
After seeking feedback from pool users, the Hindmarsh Shire Council has made a few changes to the Hindmarsh Outdoor Pools' services and policies for the upcoming season.
This includes amended opening hours, a change in the way hours are extended during hot weather, improved communication and availability of information regarding pool opening times, and a closure day that enables planned maintenance of pool facilities.
The council will endeavour to extend pool opening hours when temperatures are predicted to be more than 30ºC at the usual closing time.
Temperature predictions will be reviewed, and the anticipated extended opening hours will be published on Facebook before noon.
Any changes or cancellations to extended hours will also be posted on Facebook in real-time.
If there is inadequate demand or staffing unavailability on any given day, the council will publish this information on the Hindmarsh Outdoor Pools Facebook page.
For any anticipated use during extended hours periods, users are advised to call the council to confirm opening hours for that day.
A phone number will be published on the council's website and Facebook page for this purpose before the start of the season.
If the maximum forecast temperature is predicted to be below 24ºC at the Rainbow Weather station as per the Bureau of Meteorology, the facility may be closed at the manager’s discretion.
For Dimboola Swimming Pool, the facility will be open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3.30-6.30pm, and will be closed on Thursdays.
On Saturdays and school holidays it will open from 2-7pm, and on Sundays from 2-6pm.
Hindmarsh Outdoor Pools are planning to open on November 15 for the summer season.
