In hot weather, coach of Nhill, Jake McQueen, said their opposition also brought the heat.

"It was a pleasing win, but I don’t think the score reflected how the game was played," McQueen said.

"Saints brought the heat and challenged us for most of the day."

McQueen said he thought his side were able to take their chances going forward and finished well.

"Our pressure around the ball was solid, and we found some good flow in the second half," McQueen added.

"Liam Albrecht gave us a lot of composure behind the footy, and Darcy Reid was important up forward and through the middle – just competed hard all day.

"Kobe Hodges was impressive too – ran hard, used it well, and gave us some real spark between the arcs."

McQueen said there were still a few things for his side to improve on, particularly their conntection and structure ahead of the ball, but the game Saturday was a good base to build off.

Better players for the Saints were Jacob Obeirne and Corey Morgan.
