Pests come in a variety of shapes and sizes and might have a fur coat or be growing feathers, they can look cute and cuddly but will be happy to go about their business completely unaware of any distress or damage they might cause.

Most of us have a tolerance level for a pest species if there is just a few of them but when they grow into large mobs or cause significant damage they might need to be managed in some areas.

Having long bill corellas or big mobs of galahs swirling around squawking and disturbing the peace can test any persons resolve.

Our society does not have a high tolerance for destructive species whether they are imported or native species.

This often causes loud demands for extermination programs and that will create even more controversy.

It means we have not learned to live with other species.

Real introduced species such as rabbits, cats and foxes need to be supressed and even eliminated if the diversity of our species is to survive.

There are many native species that can develop a taste for orchard products and this is sure to get under the skin of the owners.

There are also many strategies to reduce these raids and some of them are time consuming and expensive.

Having to constantly watch out for these raids takes time.

Running scare guns is unsettling for neighbors and needs to be followed up with a real gun at least to scare.

solutions of their own.

The debate will go on but we need to keep it productive.
