Police have charged a man following a series of alleged carjackings and vehicle thefts across the Mallee on Thursday, August 8 2024.

It's alleged the man was involved in forced entry to a residence, carjackings, and collisions in the Swan Hill, Lake Boga, Mystic Park, and Hopetoun areas.

The 21-year-old was arrested on Burroin Road Swan Hill at about 11pm on Thursday evening.

The Swan Hill man faces nine changes including aggravated burglary, aggravated carjacking, criminal damage, possess offensive weapon, reckless conduct endanger serious injury, drive whilst authorisation suspended, and failing to stop after accident.

He has been remanded to appear in Swan Hill Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, November 6.

Police urge the community to be vigilant about locking homes, sheds, and vehicles and not leaving valuables on display in vehicles. It is also important to remember this when cars are parked in driveways.
