The $100 payment can be issued to households that hold a Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card, Veterans’ Affairs Pensioner Concession Card, or Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card.

Those wanting to apply must also have a recent residential electricity bill.

Member for Mildura Jade Benham said families, pensioners and small businesses are continuing to deal with the power price hikes.

“I urge everyone eligible to take advantage of the Power Saving Bonus,” she said.

“The cost of living continues to spiral out of control, and a $100 saving can mean the difference between putting food on the table or going hungry.

"While this is by no means a cure-all for the hip-pocket pain Victorians are enduring, it’s cash back at a time when people need it most.”

Ms Benham said the program was a simple but effective way for households to put a little extra back in their pockets.

“It’s one of the quickest applications you can make, and it’s worth the short time it takes to get it done," she said.

Applications open on August 25.
