Rotary Pride in Workmanship awards

Six local workers have been recognised for their pride, compassion and knowledge in their workplace during Horsham Rotary's Pride in Workmanship award ceremony on Friday, May 30.

The club presented five awards at a celebration dinner at Glen Logan restaurant with a crowd including employer representatives, family members, Horsham mayor Ian Ross and 20 Rotarians.

Teri and Felicity from Horsham City Meats were joint winners for their work as counter hands and shop and shop face workers.

Both excelling in their duties, they are vital members of the business workforce with both having a positive attitude and impact on their workplace and the customer.

Focused on providing support above and beyond, they even carry orders to people's cars.

With a friendly smile, Teri and Felicity both demonstrate excellence in workmanship and a commitment to quality.

Sam Boutcher began with Wimmera Wildflowers in 2014 where he started out as a picker, then became a team leader, and is now manager of leased properties.

He strives to do his best, supports fellow workers and has worked hard to develop his personal skills and communications with coworkers and managers.

Another winner was Melissa Hawkes, receptionist at Horsham Physiotherapy and Podiatry who is the first point of contact for new and existing clients.

Many customers are overwhelmed by the healthcare experience and Mel is patient and shows empathy to help them.

She has a patient and caring phone manner, Mel has a supporting and understanding attitude alongside a friendly nature which makes clients feel welcome as they enter the building, during payment and bookings.

Naomi Voigt is the head teller and customer services advisor at National Australia Bank in Horsham.

She shows great customer service skills and takes pride in knowing every customer.

Naomi is always happy to help improve their banking experience with a positive and friendly attitude.

Emma Clark, broadcast journalist and newsreader from 3WM and Mixx-FM was also a recipient of the award.

Horsham Rotary highlighted the importance of the awards and extended their thanks to all businesses and people who nominated workers.
