Serviceton pushes Horsham Golf for pennant title
On Tuesday February 24 Serviceton Bowls Club we played the grand final of midweek pennant against Horsham Golf, a new team to the competition.

We had enjoyed meeting them in the last rounds and had managed to defeat them at the end of the first round of home-and-away competition on our green, but we knew it might be a different story on their home ground in the last game of the second round.
They finished the season on top of the ladder, with Serviceton running two games behind in second place.
Playing them in the semi-final, we closed their winning gap, but come the grand final their play was superior.
Congratulations to Horsham Golf.
Thursday night social bowls is coming to a close.
This week we played the last round of games, plus the final.
The two top-scoring teams played off in the final.
Going into this week, the scores had four teams in contention for this year's trophies.
Saturday club bowls looked unlikely late morning with the rain but still 11 keen players showed up.
Although we started late, we played three games without rain, making the afternoon enjoyable.
Winners for the day, having won their three games, were Gwen Colwill’s team with Jeff Palmer and Leon Tink.
This week, on Thursday March 12 everyone is welcome to join in wool night.
Sponsored by Australian Wool Network, we will draw teams to play.
Names must be in by 6.30pm on the day so teams can be drawn and cards and paperwork done by 7.15pm.
To enter, call Jack on 0407 844 546 or any Serviceton player.
