Southern Roos overcome Kalkee
Harrow Balmoral won their fourth consecutive game as they defeated Kalkee on Saturday in round 14 of the Horsham District Football Netball League.
The final score saw Harrow Balmoral kick 16.11 (107) to Kalkee’s 6.7 (43).
Harrow Balmoral opened the scoring in just the second minute through an Ethan Appleton goal.
While the Southern Roos got the better of the Kees early on, crucial goals from Ben Lawson and Seth Tomlinson limited Harrow’s lead, going up 24-12 at the first break.
A hard-fought second quarter saw Harrow lead 47-23 at half-time before a decisive five-goal third quarter from the reigning premiers put the game beyond doubt, putting them up 82-30 at the final break before they finished with a 64-point victory.
Harrow Balmoral forward Appleton had a strong game in front of goals, booting six majors, and was backed up by five from Connor Deutscher.
Six Kalkee players kicked a goal each, with Matthew Magee and Karl Campbell being two standouts in the side’s losing effort.
The result means Harrow Balmoral secure second place on the ladder until their return from the bye in round 16.
