Sports assembly membership free for all clubs
Every sporting and active recreation club across the region is being offered access to the Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly (WRSA) completely free of charge.
WRSA executive officer Tony Caccaviello made the announcement while relaunching the organisation's membership program.
Mr Caccaviello said the refreshed membership offering was "designed to reduce barriers and provide real support where clubs need it most".
“From netball to darts, football to fitness groups, if you’re involved in sport or active recreation in the Wimmera, WRSA membership is for you,” he said.
“We’re here to help behind the scenes – whether that’s grant advice, governance support or driving community participation.”
He said the membership offer applied "regardless of size, sport or structure".
WRSA membership provides benefits including:
three hours of one-on-one support for tasks such as grant planning, developing child safety policies and making constitution updates
a co-hosted come-and-try day or clinic to boost local participation
discounts and early access to WRSA’s seminars and leadership programs
monthly updates on grants, news and opportunities
promotion of club news via WRSA social media and newsletters
voting rights at the WRSA AGM and eligibility to join the board
access to nominate for the prestigious Wimmera Sports Star Awards
athlete and coach support for training, travel and competition costs through the Wimmera Sports Foundation.
Clubs need only update their contact details once a year to maintain their free membership.
“We want to make it easy for clubs to get the support they deserve,” Mr Caccaviello said.
“This is about building stronger clubs, together.”
