St Joseph’s welcomes new school year
Hopetoun's St Joseph’s Primary School has warmly welcomed the start of the 2026 school year, with classrooms once again filled with excitement, energy, and the sound of learning.

"Students returned eager to reconnect with friends and teachers, while staff were delighted to see the school community come together for another year of growth and discovery," principal Cynthia Maiden said.
As the first day of school began for some, a special welcome was extended to the newest members of the school community, the Foundation students.
"Beginning school is a significant milestone, and the smiles, curiosity, and enthusiasm shown by these young learners have already brought great joy to the school," she said.
The school was also pleased to welcome a new Learning Support Officer, Shainna McNamara, who joined the team this year.
"With a strong commitment to supporting student wellbeing and learning, Shainna will work alongside teachers to provide additional care and assistance, helping every child to thrive," Ms Maiden said.
As the year begins, St Joseph’s School looks forward to a positive and productive year ahead, grounded in strong relationships, shared values, and a continued commitment to nurturing each child’s learning and wellbeing.
