Strong fields, family fun ahead for Horsham Pacing Cup

Given the Weather God's promise of a warm, sunny afternoon and ideally placed between the spring racing carnival and the festive season, all looks set for a bumper edition of the Horsham Pacing Cup Day at the Racing Centre on Sunday, December 7.

The Pacing Cup and Woodlands Stud Trotting Cup are expected to attract strong lineups, along with named races by Locks Constructions, Shelton and Lane Stationery & Print, Wimmera Aquatrail, Traction Ag, Horsham Doors & Glass and Samios Plumbing Supplies, rounding out the day's card of equine action.

Adult patrons on ups Day have a chance to take home $1000 cash in the Traction Ag Owner for a Day competition.

Eleven lucky ‘owners’ will be drawn from entry forms lodged before race three and allocated a starter in he final event on the program, with the victor collecting the spoils.

There's also a chance to win a cluBarham stay, play, wine-and-dine package in the sweeps, conducted on both cups.

Racegoers will enjoy live music from popular musician Levi Mellington.

On-course bookmaker Juppy is fielding on all races for those who enjoy a flutter.

Children will be well looked after with supervised games and activities by the crew from Kelly Sports.

They'll also enjoy the free show bags and a change in looks with Fantasy Faces by Sonia.

The Hygain Pony Trots are always a favourite, and we're looking forward to some Mount Gambier juniors crossing the border to take on the Vics with their mighty steeds.

Gates open at Noon with the first race expected around 1.49pm.

Dining will be available in West Side Bistro from 11.30am with a special (limited) raceday menu.

Bookings are highly recommended on 5382 1416.

The Trackside Lounge & Bar opens from 12.30pm, and the West Side Sports Bar, including TAB, from 10am.

You can pack the picnic basket or find a great range of hot and cold eats and drinks from Jen's Canteen at the foot of the Judge's tower.
