Students and staff get frozen for a cause
Students and staff at St Brigid’s College took the plunge on Friday, June 6, raising $1000 for Fight Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
Organised by the school's Student Representative Council, the successful Big Freeze fundraiser saw more than a dozen participants brave the cold for a wonderful cause.
Despite the cold weather, eight students and eight staff members stepped up for the Ice Bucket Challenge, including the principal, Gerard Raven, who honoured his promise to be dunked after the school smashed its $500 fundraising goal.
The event drew strong support from the school community, with many wearing their favourite sports colours and costumes in the spirit of the day.
Parents also joined the crowd as the sausage sizzle got underway, followed by the ice bucket challenge.
Donations were collected at the school's front office and on the day, as the community rallied behind the cause to help find a cure for MND.
