Swifts secure second win in a row
The Swifts’ first home game of the season may define their 2025 season after its hard-fought win against Edenhope Apsley.

The Baggies had to come from behind to seize a 49-48 win against the Saints, with clutch performances from Rebbekkah Seeary and Michaela Carey sealing the win.
Coach Amy Kenny was rapt with her side's resolve.
"We're really happy with how the girls are going,” she said.
"They put their hearts on the line yesterday; Edenhope-Apsley are no pushovers, so we're proud of the girls."
The Saints established a lead from the first whistle, growing from two goals to three at halftime.
“I guess it took the girls a bit to adjust,” Kenny said.
“We utilized fresh legs as much as we could rotations because the conditions were tough.
“I think that worked to our advantage. We’ve got versatility across the court, which means we can roll through the subs without changing our game plan.”
Kenny said the Swifts' midcourt players were a cornerstone of the victory and highlighted one player for their veteran play.
“[Kristy Dodds’] ability to find space where there is none, be two steps ahead, control the game, plus coach on the court is incredibly underrated.
“She fires passes in and puts those goalers where she wants them.”
While Seeary (29 goals) and Carey (19) did the bulk of the scoring, the Swifts also rotated Sarah Morris through the frontcourt to give the attackers a break.
At the other end of the Court, Lavina Fox (29 goals) and Edwina Flakemore saw plenty of action as both teams rotated shooters and defenders rapidly.
“Edwina’s play really got us over the line,” Kenny said.
“We were able to rebound through her so well.”
