Swifts too good for Rupanyup
The Swifts have made up for last week’s loss by defeating Rupanyup in men’s senior football on Saturday in round 11 of the Horsham District Football Netball League.

The Swifts scored 22.18 (150) to Rupanyup’s 12.8 (80).
At Stawell, the home side registered a 29-19 lead after a competitive first quarter, before a strong second quarter put the Swifts up 69-22 at half-time.
Rupanyup were able to put on an impressive offensive performance in the second half but were unable to halt the Swifts’ scoring production, eventually going down by 70.
For the Swifts, Jordan Motton and Noah Stirling were two of their best, while Ryan Timmins and Elliot Kelly were the best players for the losing side.
Stirling and Motton led the Swifts’ scoring, kicking five and four goals, respectively, while Mitch Musgrove and Blake Turner bagged four each for Rupanyup.
Brett Hargreaves, coach of the Swifts, said he was pleased with the team’s response after last week’s 162-18 loss to Noradjuha Quantong.
“It was a wonderful team effort,” Hargreaves said.
“It was the response I wanted from last week.”
Hargreaves was pleased with the execution up front from Motton and Stirling.
“Jordy Motton once again led from the front,” he said.
“Noah Stirling went forward this week and kicked a handful.”
The win ensured the Swifts remain in the top five while Rupanyup move to 10th on the ladder.
