Jack Ganley has booted 16 goals for Ararat so far this season, and will be looking to bolster that figure this week.

It'll be a battle between first and third, with Ararat not yet defeated this season and the Thunder having dropped only one game.

Coach of Thunder, Kieran Delahunty, said coming up against Ararat at their home, Alexandra Oval, was a hard task, given they played well there.

"I think what we know about Ararat is they are a skillful side, they are good runners, so I expect there would be nothing different there," Delahunty said.

"We love coming up against them and the challenge it brings, and I'm looking forward to giving it our best shot."

Delahunty said his side needed to bring the same intensity and pressure they utilised in their game against Minyip Murtoa early on.

"We need to create as many turnovers as possible; if you let them do what they want with the footy, they are going to really hurt you," he said.

Ararat have a few options in the forward line who will be looking to assert their dominance in the match, including Tom Williamson, who has booted 21 goals this season, and Jack Ganley with 16.

But the Thunder also have their fair share of good players, with Jake Garvey, Kai Sheers and Rupert Sangster having featured in the best more than once already this season.
