Town comes alive for festive night
Rainbow’s main street lit up with festive spirit on Friday, December 5, as the Rainbow Town Committee hosted its annual Christmas Night for local families.

The evening began at 6pm with children enjoying craft activities, including cookie decorating, colouring and making reindeer food, before Santa arrived at about 7pm with lollies for the kids.
Santa photos were then held in the hall, with a festive backdrop and chair set up for families to capture the moment.
Lake community volunteers ran a barbecue selling sausages and hamburgers, while several local shops stayed open late, adding to the atmosphere in the town centre.
Committee member Norelle Eckermann said the focus of the night was on giving local children a memorable Christmas experience.
“It was good, the kids did some fun activities waiting for Santa to come,” she said.
She said the highlight for her was simple but special.
“Just seeing the kids having fun and waiting for Santa, I suppose,” she said.
Ms Eckermann said feedback from the community had been positive on the night.
“A few of the attendees, when they were leaving, said it was a good night,” she said.
She also encouraged the community to continue supporting the event going forward.
“We would love it to keep going, and people need to support it so it keeps going,” she said.
She also added a seasonal message: “Thank everybody for the support for our night and wish everybody a happy and safe Christmas.”
