Combine creativity with recycling and add a lot of colour and what do you have?

You have creatures taking to the sky in parachutes made from unused face masks left over from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Organisers Larissa and Michelle guided the young creators making aliens, spiders and critters of all sorts from clay and pipe cleaners to hang from the decorated parachutes.

Sisters Avrill and Violet Jones made colourful creatures and brothers Harley and Nate made spiders and aliens.

Isaac made a colourful creature, making it a family affair attending with brothers Harley and Nate.

Gracie and Jimmy made some wonderful people and creatures to float to earth in a parachute they made.

Organisers said they were pleased with the creative youngsters' clay models and using face masks for parachutes was a way to repurpose unused items.

The school holiday activities encourage art and imagination in a space dedicated to the arts.
