Volley sweeps with flawless performance
The third round of the Horsham Badminton Association's Winter Competition saw fast-paced action and competitive matchups, with teams pushing hard for mid-season momentum.

Both A and B Grade divisions delivered a mix of dominant wins and players showcased their skills across the courts.
In A Grade, Racquet Rebels proved too strong for Net Ninjas, winning 9 sets to 1.
The Rebels’ pairing of Josh Dunn and Ishan Thomas got off to a fast start, defeating Luke Dunn and Peter Brennan in straight sets.
Josh Dunn defeated Luke Dunn by 18-21, 21-14, 21-19.
RESULT: Racquet Rebels defeated Net Ninjas by 9 sets to 1, 19 games to 5 and 477 points to 369.
On the next court, Shuttle Shifters stormed to a commanding win over Ace Avengers, claiming 8 sets to 2.
Brendan Nitschke was a standout across three strong performances, winning all his matches, including a singles win over Joel Beggs.
Phoebe Whitaker and Subin Mathews also showed great synergy in their doubles games, as the Shifters ended up with 485 points to the Avengers’ 399.
RESULT: Shuttle Shifter defeated Ace Avengers by 8 sets to 2, 18 games to 6 and 485 to 399 total points.
In B Grade, Clear Shot continued their unbeaten run, outplaying Drop Shot in a 5-2 result.
Despite a strong fight from Carolyn Beggs and Taylah Johnson, who clinched a thrilling doubles win in one of the tightest matches of the night, Mark Ngoi, Annathurai Gnanas, Alvin Chong and Casey Westmoreland stayed composed and consistent.
Mark Bgoi wins the only singles against Carolyn Beggs by 21-12 and 21-14.
RESULT: Clear Shot defeated Drop Shot by 5 sets to 2, 12 games to 5 and 343 to 286 total points.
Meanwhile, in the second B Grade encounter, Volley dominated their clash with Drive, winning all 7 sets of the match.
Ellen Jalil, Jenny Maroske, Rohan Austin, and Noime Powell proved too strong in both doubles and singles, showing smooth coordination and relentless pressure.
Drive’s pairings were nowhere near matching the Volley.
RESULT: Volley defeated Drive by 7 sets, 14 games and 294 to 169 points.
