Minyip Murtoa celebrated their 30 year reunion on the opening week of the season, defeating Dimboola 17.9 (111) to 10.10 (70) while Stawell got the points over the Thunder in Round One, 16.12 (108) to 13.9 (87) before being defeated by Ararat on Good Friday 9.4 (58) to 23.16 (154).

In their win against Dimboola last fortnight, Oscar Gawith booted six majors for Minyip Murtoa, while Timothy McIntyre kicked four.

Gawith is a handy inclusion for the side, having played previously in the AFL National Championships - Boys U18 for Victoria and the Coates Talent League for Greater Western Victoria Rebels, while Timothy McIntyre will be looking to continue his form after only playing seven matches for the side last season.

Minyip Murtoa coach Gareth Hose will also be hoping for another big game from Ben McIntyre, Kade Petering and Timothy Mackenzie, who were some of the better players in their first match.

Stawell is fresh off a big loss to Ararat, but could take solace in the fact Ararat could well be the best in the competition this season.

Stawell has been served well by Paul Summers in their couple of games this season, who has booted nine and five goals respectively, along with Charlie Gibson, who was amongst the best in both matches.

Gibson is proving to be a great pick up for Stawell, having played the 2024 season with Adrrossan in the Yorke Peninsula Football League, where he was named among the best players in 12 of the 14 games he played last year.
