Dean Yendall notched up not one but two wins at Horsham on Monday – and in consecutive races, too.

The holder of multiple Victorian country jockeys' premierships, Yendall rode to victory on Cousins Day in Race 2 before backing up on Champagne Jenni in Race 3.

The double extended the 51-year-old's already-impressive record on his home track, where from 16 starts he's now had five first and two second placings.

The triumph by Cousins Day was the filly's maiden, putting enormous smiles on the faces of all 86 co-owners, mostly Mahoney family relatives of Marcia Kenna, who bred the horse with her husband Tom.
