The Mininera and District league club failed to score against the Hawks and was obliterated by 300 points at Great Western Recreation Reserve.
Tatyoon showed its dominance early and ended the day with 46 majors.
The game marked the fourth straight loss for the Lions.
Great Western president Rodney Matheson said the team knew it would be a tough assignment but did not expect such a huge loss.
"We always thought we could post a score," he said.
"We had 11 players unavailable and that puts a big draw on our reserves and back-up players."
The Great Western Football Netball Club went into recess in December 2010 following a failed application to move from the Horsham District Football League to the Mininera and District Football League.
The club then failed to fill executive positions at its annual general meeting and faced a large loss of players.
However the Lions bounced back last year, with the club voting to reform at an annual general meeting in August.
Mininera and District Football League voted to accept the club into the league the following month.
Matheson said the club and players needed to remain positive despite Saturday's game.
"Every week it is a building phase. We have got to keep the players' motivation there," he said.
"We need to keep upbeat and keep coming to training and the wins will happen."
Matheson said the club had a huge amount of public support.
"Our gate takings at our two home games have been fantastic," he said.
"They have even been up on the past few years which shows the community are coming to support the club.
"People have been rapt with the ground and the facilities, we have just got to improve on the field."
