Year 11 student Tom Ballinger suggested the school stage the event to encourage more students to ride to school.
Tom started cycling two years ago.
He rides about 500 kilometres a week for training and hopes to represent Australia in the sport.
Tom said he wanted others to enjoy cycling.
"Cycling provides all-round great fitness; there is no jarring of joints and it allows you to get outdoors,'' he said.
"I urge everyone to get on their bike and get out and have a ride.''
Horsham College community engagement leading teacher Brandi Galpin said the event celebrated the launch of the college's new bike sheds.
She said Wimmera Trade Training Centre had replaced the original sheds.
"Now we finally have a brand new facility where students can securely store their bikes out of the weather,'' she said.
