Haven Red was undefeated in its first six matches and dropped more than two sets on just one occasion.
The team was dealt its first loss by Horsham Lawn in round eight by a slender two-game margin before a bye the previous round.
At the weekend the team lost again – this time to Laharum – 4-29 to 2-27.
Harry Combe and Will Griffiths fought hard for the Mountain Men to win their first set 6-4 against Haven’s Jacob Butcher-Weidermann and Harry Robertson.
Haven Red’s Ryan McAlpine and Fraser Amos struck back to win the second set 6-3.
Laharum gained the upper hand when Combe and Matt Jorgenson-Price won a tough rubber against Robertson and McAlpine.
It was the first of three consecutive rubber wins that gave Laharum the overall victory.
Haven Red still leads the 12 and under A Grade boys ladder, but Laharum has now drawn even on points and trails by just percentage.
Central Park further solidified its third-place position with a straight-sets win over Horsham Lawn.
Despite the 6-36 to 0-17 scoreline, Horsham Lawn was competitive for most of the match.
Ryan Pfitzner was part of two Lawn pairs that came within two games of winning a set.
In 17 and under A Grade girls action, Central Park Gold celebrated its third win of the season, upsetting Central Park Pink.
The match was shortened with each side able to field only three girls.
Central Park Gold’s two previous wins were narrow, but they won four of the five sets on offer at the weekend to finish 4-25 to Central Park Pink’s 1-24.
Pair Olivia Lawson and Chloe McRae had Gold off to a dream start by beating Pink’s Skye Davis and Victoria Potter 6-5 in the opening rubber.
Lawson lost to Davis 6-1 in their singles rubber but it was the only set for Pink.
Gold’s Rebecca Clough’s 6-5 win against Lucy De Wit was instrumental for her side.
Lawson and McRae produced one final 6-5 win for Gold by beating Davis and Potter.
In other matches, Central Park Orange easily beat Haven, while Horsham Lawn was victorious over Central Park Purple.
In 17 and under A Grade boys competition, Laharum beat Horsham Lawn Yellow and Horsham Lawn Black was awarded a win after Haven forfeited.
In 14 and under A Grade boys action, Horsham Lawn Green, Quantong and Laharum all enjoyed wins.
In 14 and under A Grade girls competition, Haven Blue, Quantong and Horsham Lawn Purple all won.
