Mrs Cross said she was a strong promoter of small businesses, education and women's affairs.
"I was motivated to stand for nomination to help drive this primarily agricultural electorate's future communication," she said.
"This includes the National Broadband Network rollout, mobile phone coverage for regional areas and improved radar coverage for the region."
She said transport links such as regular passenger rail services to Horsham were also high on her agenda.
"As is education, including the rebuild of Horsham College and further education institutions such as Longerenong College," she said.
"I have a strong vision for the future of the Lowan electorate and with a family of boys in their teenage years, I want this region to continue to be a thriving agricultural region to provide a future for families for generations to come."
Mrs Cross said she had more than 20 years' experience working in small business and was an advocate for the welfare of young women and families.
She was born to a third-generation farming family in Vectis and now lives in Horsham.
"With my husband Shane, we have a successful building company," she said.
Mrs Cross is chairwoman of Business Horsham and her past roles include Federation University advisory board member, Horsham Agricultural Society councillor, Victorian Employers' Chamber of Commerce and Industry Regional Council western Victoria representative and Lutheran Church of Australia Victorian and Tasmanian district councillor.
"I have always been true to my love of the community and have always been involved as a volunteer across the education, health, sport and business sectors," she said.
"My dedication to the Lowan electorate includes a strong vision for the future, especially that of the agricultural sector.
"Building capacity within the sector for the future is critical to its success, and ensuring the longevity of agricultural education through institutions such as Longerenong College is paramount to this success."
Mrs Cross is the latest candidate to come forward, joining Edenhope and District Memorial Hospital chief executive Emma Kealy, Haven's Russell McKenzie and Horsham football administrator Bruce Petering.
Nominations for Nationals pre-selection close on Friday.
A Nationals spokesman said party members would vote for a candidate of March 29.
The Liberal Party will not contest the seat.
