The Country Fire Authority has issued an emergency warning for Antwerp and Tarranyurk.
Fire-fighters have contained the blaze, which was moving in a northerly direction from Antwerp-Warracknabeal Road.
CFA expects to downgrade the emergency warning.
The fire crossed Stoney Crossing Road and Gaulke Road.
Aircraft and fire crews slowed the spread of the fire, which was behaving erratically under strong winds.
CFA District 17 rostered duty officer Ian Day said the fire had burnt up to 600 acres, predominantly stubble.
"We had about 20 trucks on scene and had two aircraft assisting with the fire attack," he said.
"At least one house was saved by fire-fighters.
"As far as we're aware, there has been no property loss."
CFA have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
