The opening minutes of the match were hotly contested as the Lakers sought to atone for a listless performance against Laharum in round two.
The visitors got early scoring shots but could not capitalise, while the Rams were more accurate at the other end of the ground.
The Rams were up by 26 points after kicking 4.6 to 0.4 in the opening term and never looked back.
They extended the margin to 52 by three-quarter time before Taylors Lake lent some respectability to the scoreboard with three last-quarter goals.
Natimuk United coach Tim Friend said the win was especially pleasing given the Rams lost two players early in the match.
Marc Rasmussen required 20 stitches after a head clash and Matt Lovel hurt his ankle in the first five minutes of the game.
Friend said the win built on positive signs the Rams showed last week.
"We picked up where we left off with our competitiveness around the ball," he said. "Some of the boys who came across from the Diggers haven't played in a winning side in two years, so there's a good feeling around the club."
Taylors Lake coach Deek Roberts said despite some positive signs, the execution from his players had not been good enough.
"We're putting all our eggs in one basket at the moment because we run hard forward when we have the footy and then they have blokes loose everywhere if we turn it over," he said.
"We kept turning it over, and you can't win games when you do that."
Pat Purcell had difficulty seeing out of one eye after taking a blow to the head in the first quarter, but there were no other injuries on the day.
Josh Young attacked the ball hard to be named the Lakers' best, and Jono Lovel, Callum Cameron and Josh Friend impressed for Natimuk United.
