The Saints, who had won their first three games, proved no match for a rampant Redbacks outfit in their 34.16 (220) to 6.8 (44) defeat.
The Redbacks kicked away to an early advantage with a 10-goal-to-one first term and never looked back, extending their lead at every change.
Redbacks star Brady Herdman slotted 12 goals in a best-on-ground performance, finding solid support from Ben DeAraugo, eight goals, Mark Lloyd, four goals, and Jordan Hargreaves, three goals.
Herdman kicked two goals in both the first and second quarters, before adding five in the third term and three in the last.
Thomas Douglas – one of six singular Saints goal-kickers – was named among the visitor’s best, as were James McNamee and Andrew Jesse.
Saints leading goal-kicker Daniel Needs was held to just one goal, which came late in the final term.
At George Cartwright Oval, Birchip-Watchem recorded its first win for the season by 67 points over Donald.
Jacob Noonan, Dan Castellano and Albert Simpson kicked four goals each for the Bulls, with Daniel Ratcliffe and Tom Carland named the side’s best in its 20.12 (132) to 9.11 (65) win.
For the Royal Blues, Seamus Young snared three goals, with James Heslop and Brody Haddow valiant in defeat.
Charlton continued its unbeaten run and moved to the top of the ladder with a 99-point triumph over Wycheproof-Narraport at Wycheproof Recreation Reserve.
James Baird and Ben Walklate both starred for the Navy Blues, kicking four majors apiece.
Rhys Thompson and Tom Finlay both chipped in with three goals in the 21.11 (137) to 5.8 (38) victory.
For the Demons, Declan Lourey and Sam Driscoll were among the standout performers.
