The Demons were outgunned from the start, falling in a five-goal hole by quarter-time.
A big loss seemed to be on the cards, but the team fought back admirably with a four-goal-to-three second term to go into half-time down 25 points.
Beulah opened up the lead again in the third term, but four Ouyen United goals in the last quarter brought the margin back to 38 points – only eight more than the quarter-time margin.
The Blues found plenty of avenues to goal with 13 goal-kickers, led by Denis Redden, four goals.

Ouyen United was kept afloat by Brad Vallance and Laurence Angwin, who booted 11 goals combined.
Beulah remains undefeated, while the Demons dropped to fourth on the ladder with two wins and three losses.
Cliff Ryan put on a show for the Sea Lake-Nandaly faithful, who trekked to Hopetoun Recreation Reserve, with a seven-goal haul.
Big man Luke Martin impressed across the ground for the Tigers in the 16.16 (112) to 8.9 (57) win over the Devils.
Hopetoun competed well in the first quarter and the margin was just two behinds at the first change, but the team was comprehensively beaten after that.
The Tigers are now 4-1, while the Devils dropped to 2-3.
Woomelang-Lascelles joined Sea Lake-Nandaly at 4-1 with a resounding 102-point win over Jeparit-Rainbow.
Nine goals to one in the second quarter sealed the result for the Cats.
The best players were Luke Werner for Jeparit-Rainbow and Nyaburu Kelly for Woomelang-Lascelles.
Cat Caylan Lyons was the top goal-kicker with four.
