The Mallee men will carry winning form into the clash at Woori Yallock after four consecutive victories against Central Murray, Wimmera, North Central and Horsham District football leagues.
Mallee playing-coach Col Durie said the side was aiming for five in a row.
“We have spoken about the opportunity to crack into the top 10,” he said.
“It would be awesome for the competition, the clubs and the players who have given that effort over the past five years.
“We’ve got a young running side, so if it’s nice and fine and the grounds are nice and hard hopefully we’ll be able to use our run.”
Durie said key to the Mallee’s chances would be the likes of centre Jack Shannahan, North Ballarat VFL-listed winger Coleman Schache and running defenders Matt Elliott and Luke Martin providing delivery into the forward line.
He said Brad Vallance, David Piasente and Tyler Lehmann would miss with injury, while Brodie Adcock, Simon Brown and Elliott would represent the league for the first time.
