About 70 people attended a high tea at the Dimboola Hospital day centre on Sunday.
Organiser Jan Ballard said the afternoon was a great success, raising more than $2000.
“It went really well,” she said.
“The food was delicious and we had Elsbeth Ampt playing the harp for entertainment. She was lovely as usual.”
The high tea had a royal theme.
“We were originally going to have it on the Queen’s Birthday weekend, but when we found out a lot of people were going to be away, we brought it forward a week,” Mrs Ballard said.
“A few people dressed up, with Norma Elsom winning the best-dressed award as the Queen Mother.
“Many of the cakes were also decorated with red and blue icing and jelly to represent the British flag. It looked beautiful.”
Mrs Ballard said she was pleased the event was so well supported.
“The foundation helps the hospital’s Dimboola and Horsham campuses to buy equipment,” she said.
She hopes the money will be put towards a palliative care garden due to be installed at the Dimboola campus.
“I’d like to thank everyone who helped get the high tea off the ground, including the hospital staff, the foundation members, the cooks and those who lent their beautiful crockery for the afternoon,” she said.
