Money raised from the two-day, 100-kilometre walk will go towards the Women’s Cancer Foundation and Horsham’s Ambulance Transfer station.
The dinner will be at Horsham Golf Club on June 21 from 7pm.
Royal Women’s Hospital consultant gynaecological oncologist Orla McNally and Horsham Ambulance Station team leader Paul Burton will be the guest speakers.
Green Lake’s Michele Mibus, who has ovarian cancer, is looking forward to Miss McNally’s talk about her research into an ovarian cancer vaccine.
“Orla was my surgeon in Melbourne and it will be great to hear what she has to say,” she said.
“People know a lot about breast cancer and some other cancers, but ovarian cancer is a silent killer.
“As we get older women tend to put things down to menopause, but it’s really important to be vigilant.”
Mrs Mibus participated in the 100 Chicks walk, which started with a dawn service at Lake Lonsdale on Anzac Day.
“It was a great two days,” she said.
“The walk was really well organised and there was so much camaraderie.
"I had only planned to walk five kilometres a day but because we were having so much fun and pushing each other, I ended up walking between 20 and 30 kilometres.”
Project manager Andrea Cross said Mr Burton’s talk would focus on the benefits of the proposed new ambulance transfer station at the Horsham aerodrome.
“This is a Horsham East Rotary Club project that has the support of the 100 Chicks,” she said.
She said the committee hoped to launch a book of memorabilia from the 100 Chicks Chase 100 Clicks walk at the gala dinner.
The book will cost $20.
Mrs Cross said tickets for the gala dinner were available for $50 from the Horsham Show Office, Commonwealth Bank Regional and Agribusiness Banking Centre and online at www.trybooking.com/FBHX.
She said people could visit the 100 Chicks Facebook page or call her on 0400 425 254 for more information.
